A few years ago I was in a strategy presentation with my boss, his boss, his boss' boss (the CEO) and just about every other big deal. My boss' boss sprung a surprise on me and told the CEO that in the next year we would rebuild all our systems on top of an effectively nonexistent core platform, and we'd do this with no extra resource. And of course we'd also deliver every other project on the slate. <br /><br />Needless to say, I got a bit excited - and to placate me he said "well that's just a generalisation". To this I replied "your generalisations are scaring the crap out of me". At this point the CEO slaps the table and blows up, and the meeting degenerates into something indescribably tense. <br /><br />This became a bit of a joke with my mates, and when I left the company my farewell gift was a t shirt with a quote on the back: "your generalisations are scaring the crap out of me" with my name and the year. I still have that T shirt :)
